As you can see from all my final products below they follow one particular concept, the consumption of hair products in the hair care sector. Following a particular genre throughout is a main concept, my genre was cosmetic, therefore bringing a focus on this sector of consumption was key. I carefully constructed the main product and the ancillary texts interlink to portray a concept that hair is a big part in the identity of the subculture i have selected in order to target my product at. Looking into genre theory, i identified that Cawelti stated that genres tell a society about itself, the popularity of a genre suggest it reflects the values of society. I use genre effectively as a combination with my main product and ancillary texts to portray a particular value within society. I believe that this has successfully been conveyed within the products, i wanted to send the message that consumers value appearance. The combination is effectively selected as it clearly gives the same message and attracts to the same target consumer audience. Consumption is the gain from the advertisement and persuasion part of trying to sell a product. With my main product and the ancillary tasks, the effective interlink means that it would be successful in attracting particular audience which the products have been designed for. Altman stated that media institutions use genres as it allows for product differentiation. This means different genres of products are produced to appeal to different target audiences. There is a clear relationship between the main product and ancillary tasks, they both follow the same ideology and values which therefore will appeal to a certain target audience.
MAIN PRODUCT
Care control has been visualized in all three; radio, advert and sponsorship. As well as the name of the product "reborn". The color scheme is also similar throughout, using colors such as white and black with a hint of blue to portray sophistication.Throughout the construction of all these finished products, i aimed to create a realistic set of advertisement texts and avoid creating anything which could not look good together, or looking 'odd'.I believe i have successfully created a main product and ancillary texts which put together look incredible and effective.
